Climbing Mt. Everest for Prostate Cancer Research
Well known as the earth's tallest mountain, Mount Everest is the goal for this upcoming expedition. As part of the expedition our team is aiming to raise $1 for each foot we attempt to climb with a goal of raising $29,029.00. Prostate Cancer has affected our family as well as several others we know. My father, Bob Jackson, was diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago and it came as a great shock to us that someone so healthy could be diagnosed with cancer. My dad has overcome the disease and is going to be a member of our team to Everest Base Camp along with my mom, Patty Jackson. My dad is climbing to base camp as a cancer survivor and taking the brave steps to continue to push himself to new heights.
There are three of us attempting the summit including my great friend and business partner, Brad Horn, who I had the opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro with in 2009. The other member of our team is another great friend, Ake Lindstrom, who I had the opportunity to climb Aconcagua with in 2011. We will be blogging along the way and we invite you to share our journey with us.
We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing this amazing adventure with you!
